Not all have Faith

(2 Thessalonians 3:1-3)

Not every person that lives on this earth will be saved, simply because not all have faith.

This is one of the sad facts that we have to come to accept as we walk with Christ. There are some who will reject the Lord.

This is not the Lord’s doing as it is the desire of God that every person could be saved. But God has given every person on earth a free will to choose for themselves to believe or not. Not all have faith and those who do not believe will reject themselves from God’s kingdom.

Not all have faith

God designed His system of salvation and built it upon a foundation of faith. To be saved you must believe.

But as this scripture tells us, not all have faith. Many will refuse to believe even though all of the signs of God surround us daily.

You simply need to look at the Creation and see the intricacy, beauty, and balance that exists across the universe to realise that it is the work of God.

Consider the human body. It is a wondrous work of both science and art that still baffles scientists and medical practitioners. Sure, they understand some things and are learning all of the time. But there are things that they can observe and yet not know what they are or how they work. The complexities of the human body cannot have happened by chance. The body was designed by a greater mind than a man’s mind, and that mind was the mind of God.

And yet many refuse to believe. Not all have faith, as this scripture says. And since they refuse to accept God even exists, even with the overwhelming evidence all around us, they will reject themselves from His presence.

They choose to hate God and all He stands for rather than turn to Him to be saved. Surely this is the ultimate foolishness? It is simply because not all have faith.

Why not all have faith

When people choose to reject God and reject the path of faith, then their minds are changed. Consider this scripture:

“…because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends upon them a strong delusion, to make them believe what is false, so that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12)

It is not God who rejects these faithless people, but they reject themselves. And as we see here, when they refuse to accept God’s truth and His salvation, He sends a strong delusion upon them to make them believe what is false.

You only need to look at what the world speaks about today to see that this is true.

Consider the discussions that rage about how we all got here in the first place: Creation versus evolution. Those who have no faith push the evolution theory even though a blind man can see it can’t possibly hold water.

The genetic differences between species makes it impossible for them to interbreed. The idea that all life formed by the chaotic combination of just the right chemicals in some primordial soup fails dramatically. They say that a single cell was formed in this toxic cocktail, and so life began.

But that must have happened at least four times, and in a specific and correct order for life to have occurred as we know it today. I say this because ALL life on the earth requires both a male and a female to reproduce. And there is a significant difference between animal life and plant life.

So, for evolution to have occurred there needed to be a separate male and female plant species evolve from the primordial soup and exist for sufficient time to expand before a separate male and female animal cell came into existence. The plants needed to provide food for the animals, so the order of evolution is important.

And somehow these individual cells had to find each other in order to cross-fertilise and reproduce, and surely the male versions of the cells must have come from a different primordial soup than the female versions for there to be a difference in the sexes. Similarly, the animal and plant cells must have come from different primordial soup combinations or they would not be different. The basic building blocks of each of the four cells are so different that they cannot have come from the same primordial soup puddles, which raises the question, how did the male and female versions of each group find one another?

And all of this evolution theory is built on the shaky foundation of chance. It all comes down to chaos theory and luck.

Certainly if it happened once and one cell was formed you could call it a lucky coincidence. But to expect it to happen four times, in the right order, to produce the different cells that then need to find each other to reproduce, it cannot be based upon chance. The whole system falls down.

And this doesn’t even account for the truth in the fossil records. The fossil record shows that of the roughly eight million species that exist or have existed on planet earth, almost all of them came into being during the Cambrian period.

The Cambrian period occurred roughly 250 million years ago and lasted for between 13-25 million years. If we take the upper end of that time and divide it by the number of species estimated to be on earth, then there was a new species formed approximately every three years or so. If the lower end was correct, then it would have been every 18 months or so.

Evolutionists claim for a species to evolve takes many thousands of years or many generations. But the fossil record does not bear out these claims. Nor does the fossil record contain the innumerable number of changeover species that must have existed as one species evolved into the next. According to evolutionary theory there has to be a crossover species, or a “missing link” between ALL species for evolution to work. But there are no “missing links” in the fossil record.

And yet they believe these lies when the evidence points clearly towards a Creator who made things as they are. They refuse to accept there is a God who made all things and so they will suffer the consequences of their lack of faith in the face of overwhelming evidence.

Grow in faith

Not all have faith, as the scripture says. But those who come to Christ need to stand strong in their faith and grow in faith.

This is even more important today as the return of Christ draws near and the opposition to Christ will grow. But how do we grow in faith?

You believe what you know. So faith grows with knowledge. When you know something for a certainty, then no-one can tell you otherwise and you believe it with every part of your being.

That is how we grow in faith, but increasing our knowledge of the truth.

And that last bit is important. It is the TRUTH of Jesus Christ that we must seek and find. He said to us that if we ask, seek and knock, it will be given to us. So do that. Ask Him in prayer to show you the truth. Seek the truth through studying the Bible regularly. And knock on heaven’s door to have Him open up the secrets of heaven’s truth to you for not all have faith, but we are not of those who are faithless.

Do not follow that paths of the faithless. Do not be complacent in your walk with Christ. Not all have faith even in the broad church, for some have accepted the false teachings that the devil has implanted into the church. You need to sift the teachings of the church and measure them against the scripture to ensure the faith you hold is based upon the truth.

Grow in your faith and do not stand still as you walk with Christ. Walking suggests a continual forward motion. If you stop, you will stagnate and the devil can overtake you. There is no stopping with the Lord but a continuing walk until He returns and claims you as His own.

So do not be like the world or the faithless people in the church. Seek the things of the Lord and grow in your faith with Him. Receive the rewards that He has promised to the faithful.
