My God Reigns

(1 Corinthians 15:24-28)

This short section is important for it tells us that when Jesus returns and after all is completed, how it is that first, Jesus reigns and then God reigns to that God is everything to me and to all who live in His kingdom.

Jesus reigns, MyGod Reigns
My God Reigns

And there are other things we learn from this section regarding the eternal kingdom and the process by which my God reigns and how it will be that He reigns AFTER Jesus reigns and gives all power, authority and kingdom to God the Father.

It also explains an interesting challenge to the issue of trinity for the church and where the power of God exists and lies, and how the power of God will unfold when all has been accomplished.

Jesus Reigns

When Jesus Christ returns to the Earth at His second coming, He will establish His kingdom. He will sit on the throne in the new temple that will be built for Him in Jerusalem and He will rule the world.

Now the bible tells us that at that time, He will rule the world with a rod of iron. It says of Jesus:

She gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne, – (Revelation 12:5)

And again we are told,

From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. – (Revelation 19:15)

Now this may come as a surprise to some that Jesus will have to rule the world with a “rod of iron” and that He will have to “strike down the nations” with the sword that issues from His mouth. That sword is the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Jesus will rule the nations and strike down all of those who oppose God by establishing His rule in accordance with the words of God. The nations of the world will be judged and controlled by His words at His coming and thereafter until all has been completed.

We know that after Jesus returns, Satan will be cast into the bottomless pit for 1,000 years. The devil will be cast out for that time, but the people of the earth will still seek to sin and follow all manner of evil, even without the influence of the devil.

That is why Jesus will HAVE TO reign with a rod of iron, so that the sinful and evil desires of men at that time are brought to heel and controlled. No longer will people be able to do sin and evil, to take advantage of others and to pursue evil ways, for Jesus will be their judge and will come down upon them with His rod of iron and His sword of the truth of the word of God.

When Jesus reigns, the Father will work with Him to put all of His enemies under the feet of Jesus. And the last of His enemies that will be put down is death, as we see in this scripture.

25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. – (1 Corinthians 15:25-26)

My God Reigns

Now what we see after all these things have taken place while Jesus reigns, is a transfer of power. First all things must be overcome, all victories complete and all enemies subjugated under the feet of Jesus Christ.

But the purpose of God is to be all things to all people so that all can and will say, “My God reigns.”

Note what He says in these scriptures.

Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. – (1 Corinthians 15:24)

Once all rule and all authority, along with all the enemies of God and all forms of evil have been purged from the world, then we see the transfer of power from God the Son to God the Father.

The Father will not take the rule over this earth until it has been totally, completely and utterly purged of all forms of sin, evil, wrongdoing and death. When the world has been perfected and all those who live on it are perfect as Christ Jesus is perfect, then and only then will the kingdom be delivered to and presented to the Father.

God the Father is perfect and we are required to be perfect like Him, as the scripture says,

You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. – (Matthew 5:48)

But at present we are not perfect and we only know what true perfection is by looking to Jesus Christ for He is perfect.

But do not lose heart! It is the will of God to perfect His people through Jesus Christ and the working of the Holy Spirit. The work of transformation that is taking place in ALL who belong to Christ is a work being done by the Holy Spirit. That’s his job; to change us and bring us into the image of Jesus Christ.

Now this is where it gets interesting from a trinity perspective. This scripture clearly delineates the roles of the Father and the Son.

The Father is the greater. They are not equals, and as you read all through the New Testament, Jesus Himself ALWAYS deferred to the Father calling Him the greater. Furthermore, nowhere in the bible is the Holy Spirit called “God.”

The essence of trinity teaching is that Father, Son and Holy Spirit are the “three faces of the one God.” But if they are all the one God, then they must be all equal. And if they are all equal then one cannot and does not have precedence or authority over the others.

But that is not what this scripture is telling us. What it says is this.

27 For “God has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him. 28 When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all. – (1 Corinthians 15:27-28)

It is clear from this scripture that when all has been subjected to Jesus, He will hand everything over to God the Father and Jesus will be subject to Him. Just as Jesus showed during His ministry years that He was subject to the Father in all things, so too when Jesus’ work is completed, He too will be subject to the Father.

And as we see in the scripture, when it says “all things are subjected to him,” that is to Jesus, only God the Father is excluded. If trinity is true, how could this be so for being one God, He would have to exclude Himself and then subject Himself to Himself. What nonsense!

If you seek to know more, search and you will find that the teachings of trinity are not biblical and they have no foundation in the bible. The true roots of trinity doctrine come from pagan religions that have been allowed to infiltrate into the church.

God is everything to me

What we see than after all rule and authority has been handed to God the Father by the Son, is that the Father will be everything to everyone. Every person, every Angel, every spirit and Jesus Christ Himself will say “God is everything to me.”

But the process begins now.

Seek out the truth so that the work of transformation that the Holy Spirit is working in you can be accomplished. As the scripture quoted above says, “You must be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect.”

Without attaining the perfection that mirrors Jesus Christ and God the Father, we will not enter into His kingdom. We will not have a place in the kingdom of God, and the final kingdom ruled by the Father, until and unless we are perfect as He is perfect.

So don’t wait. Seek this perfection that comes through Jesus Christ NOW! There is no time to wait. And then you too can say “My God Reigns” and “God is everything to me.”
