This is a good question. Why did Jesus perform miracles? Everywhere he went he healed the sick, restored sight to the blind, raised paralytics, raised the dead and much, much more. In so many ways he relieved the suffering of the people around Jerusalem and the region of Galilee. But Jesus never did anything without reason and a purpose, so it begs the question, why did Jesus perform miracles?

This teaching is an interesting one as it appears bang in the middle of the teaching about the woman at the well. It is interesting because Jesus shows us here that no one person in God’s Kingdom can, should or does work alone. We are part of a team, Team Jesus, if you will. And as a team we all work together for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

In the last post we looked at the conversation between Jesus and the woman at the well. We saw the interactions between them and there were lessons that are useful to understand today coming from that discussion. As we continue to look at this situation there is still more to be understood. So now we will pick up from when the disciples returned and when the woman left them to return into the town.
